Snyder pitches, hits Tualatin to league win over Newberg
NEWBERG - The Tualatin High School baseball team is still perfect in Pacific Conference play. Brandon Snyder helped make sure of that.
Snyder, a sophomore left-hander, pitched and hit the Wolves to a 10-5 win over Newberg in a league game played Friday at Newberg High School. Snyder, pitching the first four innings, gave up one unearned run while striking out three.
At the plate, he went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run. Junior Zach McPherson added a pair of hits in the victory.
On April 16, Tualatin scored a 6-1 home win over Newberg behind the pitching of sophomore Mark Lambson.
In the victory, Lambson have up one run on four hits while striking out nine.
The Wolves scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Junior Brad Alvarez had the big hit of the inning with a two-out, three run double. McPherson added a pair of doubles.
Tualatin was rained out of its scheduled game with Forest Grove on Tuesday.
