Long-time resident Jack Radow died Tuesday, April 22, 2008. He was 95.

Last month Radow and his wife, Jeanne, were awarded the Bob Bigelow Life-time Achievement Award from the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce for their outstanding community contributions.

His legacy is his work with the Lake Oswego Library and, in particular, with the Friends of the Library's used-book store, The Booktique, which reached the $1 million mark in used books sold in 2007 with all proceeds going to the Lake Oswego Library.

A tireless volunteer, Radow worked his weekly shift at Booktique last week, and was scheduled to be on again Wednesday.

'Jack's life ended how everyone wants their story to end,' said Bill Baars, Lake Oswego Library director. 'It is just one more thing to love about him.'

At the Review's press time Wednesday afternoon, service arrangements were still unknown.
