Baseball: Rain washes away Tigard's scheduled games with Newberg
TIGARD - The Tigard High School baseball team didn't have much luck in its final two games with McMinnville last week.
This week, the weather has been the Tigers' biggest problem so far.
Tigard dropped its final two games in its three-game series with the Grizzlies, falling 8-3 in a Pacific Conference game played April 16 at McMinnville High School and then losing 6-2 in a game played Friday at Tigard High School. McMinnville pitcher Cameron Clow threw a one-hitter in Friday's contest.
The two losses evens Tigard's league record at 3-3 (10-6 overall). McMinnville improved to 5-1 in league games with the two victories.
This week, Tigard was rained out in scheduled games with Newberg both on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The teams are scheduled to play today (Thursday) starting at 5 p.m. at Newberg High School. They'll meet again Friday at 5 p.m. at Newberg. The third game of the series is tentatively scheduled to be played on Saturday, although that could possibly change.
Tigard will open a three-game series with Canby on Tuesday with a 5 p.m. game at Canby High School.
