Westside presents Youre a Good Man, Charlie Brown
Westside Christian High School Theatre, in cooperation with Alpenrose Dairy, presents the classic musical 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.' The production opens on Friday, April 25, and runs through Sunday, May 4.
The musical fun and fancy surrounding this 1999 revised edition is described as 'an average day in the life of Charlie Brown.' It really is just that, a day made up of little moments picked from the life of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.
The music is upbeat and lends itself to some fun choreography and Westside's cast of six veteran actors and a chorus of almost 40.
Charlie Brown is portrayed by Tom Cadonau and his beloved dog Snoopy is played by Nick Meusch. Ashley Miller is Lucy; Jessie Miller is Sally; Linus is John Tovolny and Schroeder is Robert Taylor.
The production also features a five-piece orchestra led by musical director and keyboardist Jacob Tippets.
'The audience will love 'Beethoven Day' and 'Supper Time,'' said director Tyson Stephenson. 'Those are the showstoppers.'
The show will be performed at Alpenrose Dairy Opera House at 6149 SW Shattuck Road in Portland.
Show times are Friday and Saturday evenings, April 25, 26, May 2 and 3, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 4, at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 and $12. Reservations and information are available by calling 503-697-4711, ext. 243.
