Obama supporters, Jeff Duyck spend Saturday politicking in the Grove
Two weekend events aim to fuel election-season excitement
Supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination will be grilling up dogs and celebrating the grand opening of the Forest Grove campaign office this Saturday.
But Democrats won't be having all the fun.
Republican Jeff Duyck, who will run against Incumbant Chuck Riley and Independent Party Candidate Terry Rilling for Oregon House District 29 will also be drumming up some support tomorrow.
Duyck and his supporters will meet this Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Forest Grove Senior Center to canvass several neighborhoods in District 29. Community members interested in joining the walk can call Shawn Swearingen at 503-341-5761 for more information.
The Obama BBQ will start at 11 a.m., then supporters will fan out into the Grove to register voters. The campaign office is located at 1728 Pacific Ave. in Forest Grove. For more information, call the office line at 503-746-7578.
