Money for computers at Boys and Girls Club

by: Eric Norberg,

The Southeast Rotary Club presented a check for $2,500 to the Meyer Boys and Girls Club on S.E. Milwaukie Avenue in Westmoreland at its Woodstock meeting at Country Bill's Restaurant, April 14th - and added a $500 check from the Milwaukie Rotary Club as well.

Rotary District 5100, which embraces all clubs in northern Oregon and southwest Washington, will match those with a check for $2,500, bringing the total Rotary contribution to $5,000.

Presenting the checks (shown at right) was Kathy Stromvig, current President of S.E. Portland Rotary (left); receiving the gifts were Ashley Turner (center), named 'Youth of the Year' for the State of Oregon by Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Kerian Walton (right).

The funds will be used to enhance the computer programs at the Boys and Girls Club.
