Credit union welcomes new president, CEO
Employees and members of St. Helens Community Federal Credit Union are celebrating the appointment of Jeff Schwarz as their new president and chief executive officer. Schwarz has been the chief financial officer at SHCFCU for the past four years, as well as a valuable asset with excellent public relations skills. With more than 26 years of experience in the credit union industry, he has expertise in financial, operational and member experiences.
Holly Nachbar has been named to take over the position of chief financial officer, after a six-month search. Nachbar is a certified public accountant, with 17 years experience in the financial industry, including public and nonprofit accounting, and corporate auditing.
Nachbar is from International Falls, Minn., where she was the chief financial officer of TruStar Federal Credit Union. The SHCFCU is in the process of implementing electronic improvements that Nachbar accomplished while at TruStar, which increased efficiency and cost effectiveness.
At SHCFCU, Nachbar will be responsible for financial reporting, asset and liability management, audits, and overseeing accounting for the four branches of the credit union.
The 70th annual meeting of SHCFCU will be held Tuesday, May 27, at Best Western Oak Meadows Inn in St. Helens. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the business meeting starting at 7 p.m.
