Candidates for Congress to speak in Lake Oswego

State Sen. Kurt Schrader and Steve Marks, two candidates for the U.S. Congressional District 5, will speak at the Willamette Women Democrats Speakers Forum on May 14 at Oswego Lake Country Club starting at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Schrader from Canby has represented his district since 1997 as a state representative, then as senator since 2003 and served as Oregon's budget chief. In addition to his political responsibilities, Schrader has been a farmer and is a veterinarian and small businessman.
Marks from Turner has served for many years as Senior Policy Advisor and later as chief of staff for Governor John Kitzhaber. Recently, he has been working as an advocate for the Archimedes Movement, founded by John Kitzhaber, to address fundamental problems in our health care delivery systems. He also represents economic and agricultural interests in Oregon.
The Willamette Women Democrats Monthly Speakers Forums take place the second Wednesday of each month through May. Forums take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Oswego Lake Country Club, 20 Iron Mountain Blvd. Light refreshments are served.
Tickets are $12 for members and $14 for non-members.
