UPDATE • 18-year-old man died from multiple wounds

Portland Gang Enforcement officers are investigating the shooting death of 18-year-old Shalamar Altae Edmond, whose body was found near a North Portland park.

Police said Edmond died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers responded at about 12:03 a.m. Monday to calls of gunshots in the area of North Trenton Street and Newman Avenue.

When the officers arrived, they found Edmond's body. A crime scene was established in McCoy Park.

Homicide detectives and officers from the Forensic Evidence Division are investigating the shooting with the gang team.
