Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

5/20/08 12:22 p.m. A juvenile girl was arrested for vandalizing a school bus. She was taken to the Clackamas County Juvenile Resource Center.

5/20/08 8:56 p.m. Karen J. Boyd, 43, was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear on charges of failing to perform the duties of a driver. She was lodged at Multnomah County Jail.

5/21/08 3:22 p.m. Kelly Marie Freed, 48, was cited and released on suspicion of driving while suspended.

5/23/08 12:09 a.m. A 15-year-old was arrested for assault and lodged at the Donald E. Long facility for juveniles.

5/23/08 4:47 p.m. A juvenile was arrested for theft and taken to the Clackamas County Juvenile Resource Center.

5/23/08 5:13 p.m. Gabrielle Christine Seggert, 47, was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear on charges of DUII and taken to Washington County Jail.

5/23/08 10:07 p.m. Kevin Matthew Sloggett, 40, was cited and released on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, driving while suspended and driving without insurance.

5/24/08 11:41 p.m. Sulong Wang, 19, was cited and released on suspicion of providing alcohol to minors.

5/20/08 6:29 a.m. Two glass doors and one window were broken out of a house on Wembley Park Road.

There were no reported incidents of DUII this past week.

5/20/08 10:15 p.m. Police were unable to locate a crash heard in the area of Boones Ferry Road.

5/22/08 9:17 p.m. No one was hurt in a two-car crash on Bangy Road at Kruse Way.

5/23/08 11:32 a.m. There were no injuries in a two-car crash on Fourth Street.

5/19/08 3:27 p.m. A backpack with laptop and camera were stolen from Country Club Road.

5/20/08 12:12 p.m. A catalytic converter was stolen off a car on Meadows Road.

5/21/08 6:11 a.m. A car was reported stolen from Jefferson Parkway.

5/21/08 7:28 a.m. A bag containing clothes was stolen from a car on Kerr Parkway, the window smashed.

5/21/08 7:58 a.m. A catalytic converter was stolen off another car, this one on Parkview Drive.

5/21/08 10:23 a.m. Stolen mail was recovered in Portland.

5/21/08 10:57 a.m. Mail slots were pried open on Foothills Drive.

5/21/08 12:38 p.m. A stolen car was found on Jefferson Parkway.

5/21/08 2:49 p.m. Mail was stolen from a mailbox on Reese Road.

5/22/08 4:55 p.m. Gas was stolen from a filling station on Boones Ferry Road.

5/19/08 6:04 a.m. An injured goose was spotted near Boones Ferry Road.

5/19/08 10:17 a.m. A man was throwing lit cigarettes off a balcony on Touchstone, burning the cushion off a patio chair below. Other things were also falling from one porch to the other, such as dog urine.

5/19/08 10:20 a.m. A dump truck left a thick cloud of diesel smoke that blinded drivers on Country Club Road.

5/19/08 12:22 p.m. A landscape crew was blasting a radio on Bunick Drive.

5/19/08 6:24 p.m. The ballot box at the library was overflowing with ballots.

5/19/08 11:11 p.m. Someone threw a water balloon at a car on Boones Ferry Road.

5/20/08 12:25 a.m. An elderly man looked confused on Fifth Street.

5/20/08 10:02 a.m. Police ousted a 79-year-old man from a business on Parrish Street after he followed a patron inside and yelled at her for parking on the street.

5/20/08 11:52 a.m. Overgrown weeds were cause for complaint on Conifer Drive.

5/20/08 12:49 p.m. Police assisted in a reunion after ducklings were separated from their mother on Boones Ferry Road.

5/20/08 1:22 p.m. A short while later the duck and ducklings were reportedly stuck in the center median on Boones Ferry Road.

5/21/08 8:54 a.m. A worker who had been fired planned to picket the home of his former boss.

5/21/08 9:11 a.m. A wrecked car that showed up in the parking lot of a Kruse Way business was possibly stolen and had bullet holes in it.

5/21/08 11:35 a.m. A man was sitting in a car with his shirt off on Melrose Street.

5/21/08 12:22 p.m. A Laurel Street resident was suspected of smoking marijuana.

5/22/08 9:40 a.m. Two vicious dogs were possibly going to bust through a failing fence on Hill Way. Police found them to be two, calm and quiet poodles.

5/22/08 1:06 p.m. A coyote was spotted in a yard on Westfield Court.

5/22/08 3:44 p.m. A baby nearly spilled from the backpack of a woman at a 7-11 as she bent forward.

5/23/08 10:43 a.m. A firecracker blew up a mailbox on Lake Haven Drive.

5/23/08 1:51 p.m. A reckless driver nearly struck three students on Overlook Drive.

5/23/08 5:43 p.m. A suspicious car on Nansen Summit was being steamed up by two teenagers.

5/23/08 8:48 p.m. A large group of teens gathered in a parking lot on A Avenue.

5/23/08 9:01 p.m. A coyote was spotted on Coventry Court.

5/23/08 11:07 p.m. A car seen parked in front of a house on Hillshire Drive was occupied by a parent who was waiting for his or her daughter to come out of a neighbor's house.

5/24/08 1:53 a.m. A car was egged on Boones Ferry Road.

5/24/08 1:17 p.m. A Fifth Street resident accused a child of stealing two place-settings of silverware.

5/24/08 1:57 p.m. A person with a suicidal past threatened to get a gun and was fearful of people looking in windows.

5/24/08 5:08 p.m. A goose with an injured wing was spotted on Boones Ferry Road but was actually not hurt, just born with a deformed wing.

5/24/08 8:32 p.m. Two kids with boxing gloves were punching each other on Melrose Street.

5/25/08 1:29 p.m. A driver in a black BMW hit a duck on Foothills Drive, then called police for help. The duck appeared to have an injured leg but could not be corralled. It flew off.

5/26/08 1:10 a.m. A coyote was spotted on Lakefront Road.

5/19/08 10:30 a.m. Free money was offered to a resident on First Street. This seemed suspicious.

5/19/08 4:56 p.m. A Social Security number was stolen and used for identity theft.

5/20/08 4:49 p.m. Harassing phone calls were reported.

5/23/08 12:32 p.m. A reported fraud turned out to be a legitimate bank account opened by the complainant.
