Sex abuse probe leads to mans arrest
A 44-year-old Portland man was arrested Friday morning at his Lake Oswego office as part of a six-month child pornography investigation.
Kevin Eugene Thornburg, 1700 N.E. 162nd Ave., was arrested at about 11 a.m. at Biotronik Inc., by Multnomah County sheriff's deputies working with the federal Intercept Task Force.
He was charged on suspicion of 24 counts of second-degree encouraging child sex abuse, which involves illegal possession of child pornography.
Thornburg was the subject of an investigation that began in November when the Naval Criminal Investigative Service alerted the Oregon Internet Crimes Against Children group to a report of online sexual corruption of a minor in Washington state.
The Internet crimes group forwarded the tip to the Intercept Task Force, which indicted Thornburg on the sex abuse charges.
