Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

5/26/08 5:47 p.m. David Duane Nylund, 47, was arrested on a charge of failing to appear on charges of driving while suspended and taken to Clackamas County Jail.

5/27/08 11:05 p.m. A 17-year-old was arrested for theft and taken to the Clackamas County Juvenile Resource Center.

5/29/08 9:34 a.m. Mariel M. Johnson, 21, was arrested on charges of assault, harassment and criminal mischief. She was taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

There were no burglaries reported in Lake Oswego this week.

5/21/08 7:16 p.m. William O'Brien Bassett, 78, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Eighth Street.

5/26/08 1:22 a.m. Amanda Marie Cartales, 30, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Carman Drive and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

5/28/08 10:20 a.m. Catherine Ellen Black, 59, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Boones Ferry Road and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

5/28/08 9:05 a.m. No one was hurt in a two-car crash at McVey Avenue and State Street.

5/28/08 4:48 p.m. There were no injuries reported in a two-car collision at Palisades Crest Drive and Westview Drive.

5/28/08 2:20 a.m. A traffic accident was reported at Boones Ferry Road and Kerr Parkway. Injuries were unknown.

6/1/08 7:31 p.m. No one was hurt in a two-car collision on Greentree Road at Lakeridge Drive.

5/26/08 1:04 a.m. Two teens made off with a 12-pack of Heineken in a beer run on a local 7-11.

5/27/08 2:01 p.m. A wallet containing credit cards, health card, bank card and ID was reported stolen.

5/28/08 12:07 p.m. A cell phone and jacket valued at $325 were stolen from Oswego Pointe Drive.

5/28/08 2:32 p.m. A credit card reader was stolen from a local business.

5/30/08 9:49 a.m. A hydraulic hammer valued at nearly $40,000 was taken from Lakeview Boulevard.

5/30/08 12:47 p.m. Mail theft was suspected when packages valued at $500 did not arrive.

5/30/08 7:07 p.m. A rare bonsai plant was stolen from a deck on Oswego Summit, then mysteriously returned.

5/31/08 4:11 p.m. A wallet was taken from a car on First Street.

5/26/08 9:52 a.m. A large bong was found on the property of a Mormon temple.

5/26/08 11:27 a.m. An officer removed a tree limb from Upper Cherry Street.

5/26/08 3:24 p.m. Fireworks exploded in a mailbox on Lake Haven Drive.

5/26/08 4:09 p.m. A out-of-control child told police he didn't like his father telling him what to do.

5/26/08 4:56 p.m. A man was throwing rocks at ducks on Hemlock Street.

5/27/08 7:36 a.m. A suspicious noise in a house on Gabrielle Court turned out to be a panicked bird that had somehow gotten inside.

5/27/08 8:24 a.m. Police and fire responded to a possible 'slumper' in a car on Waluga Drive, who turned out to be fine.

5/27/08 10:22 a.m. Cars were speeding through the stop sign on Hallinan Street.

5/27/08 12:45 p.m. City workers destroyed a fort on Iron Mountain Boulevard but kids quickly resurrected it.

5/27/08 5:48 p.m. A car was the target of an egg-launch on Kruse Way.

5/27/08 6:02 p.m. A branch fell from a tree, breaking the windshield of a car on the way down. This occurred on Boones Ferry Road.

5/27/08 6:25 p.m. Three 12-year-old girls were pushing each other on Bryant Road.

5/27/08 6:43 p.m. Rock-throwing juveniles took out a car window in an undisclosed location.

5/27/08 6:45 p.m. A restraining order violation was reported.

5/27/08 11:45 p.m. A woman on Bonniebrae Drive heard strange noises outside her bedroom window.

5/28/08 7:23 a.m. Several deer were going in and out of the street on Greentree Circle, possibly tempting traffic, as school kids gathered nearby.

5/28/08 12:57 p.m. A broken window was spotted at a vacant building, location withheld.

5/28/08 1:42 p.m. A truck with a sign reading 'explosives' was parked at a Boones Ferry Road address, then left sitting with its back door open.

5/28/08 2:42 p.m. A deer was spotted on Third Street.

5/28/08 5:00 p.m. A solicitor was playing with a door knob on Haven Street.

5/28/08 5:47 p.m. A man who heckled office workers over the telephone was warned to leave them alone.

5/28/08 10:11 p.m. A 15 year old with bleached hair with purple and black highlights was reported missing.

5/28/08 10:26 p.m. A man was assaulted by his ex-girlfriend.

5/29/08 7:30 a.m. Sexual molestation of a juvenile was reported.

5/29/08 10:55 a.m. Police offered advice to a woman on Lower Drive who was out of patience with a neighbor's cat.

5/29/08 11:20 a.m. Four dogs were running in traffic on Bryant Road.

5/29/08 4:36 p.m. Dog feces were accumulating in the alley behind First Street.

5/29/08 4:49 p.m. Speeding vehicles were traveling perilously close to children on bicycles on Eighth Street.

5/29/08 5:32 p.m. Dog feces were also accumulating in a courtyard on Second Street.

5/29/08 10:14 p.m. One man threatened another on Greenridge Drive.

5/29/08 10:09 p.m. A practical joke got out of hand on Boones Ferry Road, where a man who somehow ended up in a trash bin at a pizza joint was unable to get out again.

5/30/08 10:45 a.m. A baby was locked in a car on Jean Way.

5/30/08 12:26 pm. Car tires squealed, a dog yelped on Second Street.

5/30/08 3:56 p.m. A person appeared to be thinking of jumping off the North Shore Bridge.

5/30/08 4:29 p.m. A man was taking hits off a pipe on Pilkington Road.

5/30/08 5:46 p.m. A man suspected of urinating on his neighbor's deck on Touchstone blamed his dog.

5/30/08 5:55 p.m. Three kids were apparently skiing on Overlook Drive, dry weather and all.

5/30/08 6:36 p.m. A cat was locked in a neighbor's car on Boones Way.

5/30/08 10:47 p.m. Kids were throwing eggs at cars on Carman Drive.

5/30/08 11:24 p.m. Forty or 50 juveniles seen running on the field at Lakeridge were just out for a little midnight Frisbee.

5/31/08 12:41 a.m. A man seen running through a residential neighborhood was apparently dodging his cab fair.

5/31/08 1:53 p.m. A dog with a cropped tail, named 'Stretch' according to his tag, was found on Bryant Road.

5/31/08 8:23 a.m. 'The little girl from across the street' was suspected of tearing up a neighbor's plants.

5/31/08 1:55 p.m. A man claiming to be a mortgage broker approached a Sierra Vista home and tried to talk the owner into signing a piece of paper. He screamed obscenities at the owner after failing.

5/31/08 4;35 p.m. Two kids thought to be missing from an elementary school carnival were found safe and occupied on a playground.

5/31/08 4:39 p.m. Two kids walked into a State Street store carrying a walker and looking for a knife to cut the handlebars.

5/31/08 4:52 p.m. Beer bottles were thrown into a yard on Ladd Street.

5/31/08 7:58 p.m. A man who was drinking while watching a child play on State Street turned out to be waiting for a ride.

5/31/08 9:49 p.m. Three gun shots were reported on Blue Heron Drive.

5/31/08 10:02 p.m. Several chairs were thrown into a pool on Indian Creek Drive.

5/31/08 11:22 p.m. A fire in a backyard on Fernwood Drive was related to a birthday party.

6/1/08 8:06 a.m. The windshield of a catering truck was busted out with a watermelon.

6/1/08 8:17 a.m. Mailboxes were the helpless targets of a rolling vandal on Bryant Road and Westridge Drive.

6/1/08 11:07 a.m. A fearful woman who smelled like alchohol was taken to a hospital.

6/1/08 12:10 p.m. A wife was taken to a hospital after being assaulted by her husband.

6/1/08 4:17 p.m. Someone was using a power washer on a Sunday on Lake Forest Drive.

6/1/08 6:01 p.m. A nine-year-old girl was out of control on Foothills Drive, according to her mother.

5/27/08 11:13 a.m. A person withdrew funds from his or her former spouse's bank account.

5/27/08 3:10 p.m. A business reported an unauthorized credit card transaction on B Avenue.

5/28/08 2:17 p.m. People claiming to be fundraising for Lake Oswego High School were not.

5/28/08 3:48 p.m. A local woman suspected identity theft after receiving two calls from cash-and-go shops in Portland.

5/29/08 10:58 a.m. A landscaping contractor bounced a check to a subcontractor for a job.
