Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

6/16/08 1:21 p.m. Maura Cortes Melchor, 23, was arrested on suspicion of providing false information to police and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

6/16/08 9:40 p.m. Thomas Edward Johnson, 34, was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. He was taken to a Multnomah County jail.

6/16/08 11:44 p.m. Paul Van Dyk, 51, was arrested on suspicion of assault and interfering with a police officer. He was taken to Clackamas County Jail.

6/17/08 10:55 p.m. Three juveniles were charged with criminal mischief and reckless endangering after shooting at cars. One was taken to the Clackamas County Juvenile Resource Center. The other two were referred to a juvenile court.

6/18/08 3:33 p.m. Christi A. Calhoun, 29, was arrested on suspicion of identity theft, conspiracy and drug possession. She was taken to Clackamas County Jail.

6/20/08 1:41 a.m. Bryan Eugene Twitty, 46, was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear on charges of harassment and domestic violence.

6/20/08 7:45 p.m. Zaki Mohammad Bannat, 49, was cited and released on suspicion of offensive littering.

6/20/08 4:38 p.m. Darcy Jean Harmon, 36, was cited and released on suspicion of driving while suspended and driving outside restrictions.

6/22/08 3:48 p.m. A juvenile was arrested for assault and harassment after hitting an adult in the head with a two-by-four. He was taken to the Donald E. Long facility.

There were no burglaries reported in Lake Oswego in the past week.

6/20/08 9:51 p.m. Kimberly Ann Colton, 46, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Third Street. She was taken to Clackamas County Jail.

6/22/08 9:40 p.m. Brandon T. Dawson, 21, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Boones Ferry Road. He was taken to Clackamas County Jail.

6/16/08 6:15 p.m. Injuries were unknown in a two-car collision at McVey Avenue and State Street.

6/18/08 1:39 p.m. Injuries were unknown in a collision between a cyclist and a car on Fifth Street. The cyclist was cited for failing to obey a stop sign.

6/19/08 2:22 p.m. There were no injuries in a two-car crash at Bryant Road and Deerbrush Avenue.

6/20/08 5:03 a.m. No one was injured in a car crash on Boones Ferry Road at Bryant Road.

6/20/08 5:45 p.m. A bicyclist was injured in an accident with a truck at Bangy and Bonita roads.

6/20/08 2:36 p.m. There were injuries reported in a two-car crash at Kerr Parkway and Tanglewood Drive.

6/16/08 12:21 p.m. A gun stolen in 1979 was located by Clackamas County sheriffs.

6/16/08 12:44 p.m. Two phone cards valued at $200 were stolen from an A Avenue business.

6/17/08 5:57 p.m. A large plastic garden pot was reported stolen from Sixth Street.

6/18/08 12:49 p.m. Two boxes of missing files were not stolen, just in the hands of their owner's wife.

6/20/08 8:48 a.m. A $400 bike was taken from Camden Lane.

6/20/08 12:00 a.m. Two batteries were taken from boats on the lake in the last week.

6/21/08 12:35 a.m. An MP3 player was not stolen from Kruse Oaks Drive. Instead it was in a box, where its owner left it.

6/16/08 6:18 a.m. Five ducklings were spotted in a storm drain on State Street.

6/16/08 11:41 a.m. Weeds were topping five feet at a local residence.

6/16/08 1:32 p.m. Debris was flying from the back of a truck on Boones Ferry Road.

6/16/08 2:42 p.m. A man on a porch on Twin Fir Road claimed to be looking for 'Michael.'

6/16/08 3:11 p.m. An elderly driver pulled up on the right side of a cyclist in the bike lane.

6/16/08 3:50 p.m. Employees at a local mortgage company received 'disgusting voicemails' from an older drunken man.

6/16/08 4:01 p.m. A transient man kept coming to the food bank. For reasons not easily explained, this was considered suspicious.

6/16/08 7:10 p.m. A dog was living in a vacant house on Tenth Street.

6/16/08 7:51 p.m. Juveniles threw cigarettes into a bush on Third Street.

6/16/08 10:30 p.m. A man carrying a case of beer on Kruse Way looked younger than 21. He was not, police found.

6/16/08 10:53 p.m. A car was driving in reverse in the Lakeridge High School parking lot. Its driver and other, vehicle-driving spectators were accused of being loud.

6/16/08 11:54 p.m. A depressed person was voluntarily taken to a hospital.

6/17/08 1:52 a.m. A car associated with a runaway teen was located in Tualatin.

6/17/08 10:04 a.m. Two properties on El Greco were reported for having overgrown bushes, making it difficult to see when driving.

6/17/08 11:27 a.m. A rottweiler was lunging at passers-by from a car on Monroe Parkway.

6/17/08 11:27 a.m. A police officer was flagged down by a citizen with a question about coyotes.

6/17/08 2:02 p.m. Ten juveniles swam from the swim park on Lakewood Bay to apartments on McVey Avenue, where they were jumping off the roof into the water.

6/17/08 3:44 p.m. Police dispensed advice on how best to ride a horse in the city.

6/17/08 4:08 p.m. Baby ducks were again spotted in a storm drain.

6/17/08 4:58 p.m. A woman reported her mother-in-law was stalking her and attempting to take her children.

6/17/08 7:50 p.m. A restraining order violation was reported against a persistent e-mailer.

6/17/08 7:58 p.m. Teen-age girls were throwing trash out of a moving black Subaru on McVey Avenue.

6/17/08 10:34 p.m. Twenty juveniles were loitering in front of the Plaid Pantry on Pilkington Road.

6/18/08 12:54 p.m. A child was riding without a car seat in a gray Subaru on Boones Ferry Road.

6/18/08 3:36 p.m. A drunken man was walking down Jefferson Parkway carrying a quart of beer in a plastic bag.

6/18/08 3:46 p.m. A large swarm of bees and nest were spotted on Bangy Road.

6/18/08 5:16 p.m. The driver of a dark BMW blasted their horn at two juveniles on bicycles near Botticelli Street.

6/18/08 6:08 p.m. A chihauhua with a pink collar was reported missing on Andrews Road.

6/18/08 9:38 p.m. Someone put sugar in the gas tank of a car on Botticelli Street.

6/18/08 10:15 p.m. Eight or ten juveniles set something on fire on Rosemont Road.

6/19/08 1:45 a.m. A local person was taken to a hospital after a suicide attempt.

6/19/08 7:20 a.m. Someone shot paintballs at a house on Hastings Place overnight.

6/19/08 9:35 a.m. Toilet paper made its rounds on Upper Drive.

6/19/08 1:23 p.m. A yard on D Avenue was infested with tree alders and attracting some kind of bug.

6/19/08 1:35 p.m. Two teen girls were driving around a traffic island in a black Chevy Tahoe, yelling.

6/19/08 2:49 p.m. Windows were broken in the door of a bakery on Jean Way.

6/19/08 7:29 p.m. A dead bird was spotted on Jefferson Parkway. A caller was concerned about the West Nile Virus.

6/19/08 8:26 p.m. A drunken man was stumbling into the bushes behind Waluga Junior High School. He was taken to a detox facility.

6/19/08 9:01 p.m. Kids smelled marijuana on Central Avenue.

6/19/08 11:17 p.m. Boaters on the Willamette River pulled over to a Lake Oswego home and stole the patio furniture.

6/19/08 11:42 p.m. A suspicious odor was reported on Lords Lane.

6/20/08 7:46 p.m. Overgrown weeds were reported on Woodland Terrace.

6/20/08 7:52 p.m. A coyote was spotted on Park Road.

6/20/08 12:39 p.m. A driver parked in a disabled space on State Street without a permit, then left the car running with three kids inside.

6/20/08 12:49 p.m. A little girl was accused of messing with a garbage can on Fifth Street, and also picking the leaves off a plant.

6/20/08 1:47 p.m. A postal carrier was attacked by a dog on D Avenue.

6/20/08 2:45 p.m. A suicidal person was taken to a hospital after heavy drinking.

6/20/08 5:53 p.m. Workers manning a jackhammer on Melissa Drive did not look like they would stop by 6 p.m.

6/20/08 11:35 p.m. Loud people were on a boat at the Springbrook easement.

6/20/08 11:51 p.m. A loud party reported on Becket was not really a party, just people gathering to go to Portland.

6/21/08 11:39 a.m. A fight was reported on McNary Parkway. Police found this was 'mutual combat.'

6/21/08 10:51 a.m. A small deer was trying to cross Country Club Road.

6/21/08 1:08 p.m. An injured raccoon was 'dispatched' by police on Arbor Lane.

6/21/08 1:30 p.m. A peacock on Bonaire Avenue apparently had its legs tied together.

6/21/08 2:30 p.m. A person who thought the Prince of Wales had been suffocated in a room was taken to a hospital.

6/21/08 6:00 p.m. People were fishing under the hotel on State Street, causing damage to a duck nesting area.

6/21/08 6:54 p.m. A possibly drunken driver nearly hit a person on Fosberg Road, then yelled obscenities at them.

6/21/08 7:13 p.m. Kids were going back and forth between a play structure and a shelter at Westlake Park, littering in between.

6/21/08 9:17 p.m. A coyote was spotted on Matthew Court.

6/22/08 8:49 p.m. A homeowner on 35th Place heard glass breaking, then chased two people away.

6/22/08 12:13 p.m. Two kids were shooting pellet guns on Bonniebrae Drive.

6/23/08 11:29 a.m. A tree fell across the road on Erickson Street, taking wires with it.

6/23/08 12:04 p.m. A woman who ran out of gas wanted police to bring her some. They told her to call a family member.

6/17/08 9:01 a.m. A possible fraud was reported.

6/18/08 1:39 p.m. Forged prescriptions were reported by a local doctor.

6/18/08 8:38 p.m. Unauthorized credit card purchases were reportedly made via the Internet.

6/19/08 2:11 p.m. Credit card fraud was reported.
