Crews from Konell Construction and Demolition were demolishing the former US Bank building at 120 N. State St., now owned by the city of Lake Oswego, on Wednesday. Konell began dismantling the interior of the building two weeks ago, recapturing much of the interior for recycling or reuse. The demolition contract was awarded in June for $50,702 to make way for a public park. Planning for the future park will take place over the next few months and will include opportunity for public input. Construction of the park is set for fall of 2009. Temporary landscaping will fill the area until then.
