Pendleton pounds out 17 hits in four at bats to eliminate Lions from playoffs
The St. and #8200;Helens Lions took a long drive to Pendleton for a short 'play-in' game, losing 13-3 in five innings.
The Lions scored the first run of the game when and #8200;Brad Ivy led off with a double, advanced on a sacrifice by Brandon Underwood, and went home on a play at first.
Pendleton began with three straight singles for one run, and a three-run homer to take a 4-1 lead.
St. and #8200;Helens stayed in the game with a homer by Drake Mosely in the second, but Pendleton answered with one of their own. The Buckaroos added two more runs in the third for a 7-2 lead and then put the game away with six more runs in the fourth inning, including a two-run homer. They had 17 hits and three homers in the game.
Brennen Norton scored the only other run for the Lions, singling in the fourth, advancing on a single by Wyatt Mosely, and scoring on a single by Underdwood.
The Lions finished the season with an 8-12 record.
