Hot times, many thanks at the Bash
To the Editor:
Thank you alumni!
The weather was sizzling but so was the conversation among alums that gathered for the second Alumni Bash on Saturday, Aug. 16.
A big thank you goes to some special alums who have worked very hard the last two years to make this annual event a real success. First to Jennifer Zahniser, Lakeridge Class of 1972, Chip Pierce, Lake Oswego High School class of 1978, and Pete Stidd, LOHS class for 1961, for their help organizing the event. Brewmaster, Karl Ockert, LOHS class of 1978, supplied beer from his Bridgeport Brewery while John Dyrnes, LOHS class of 1974, catered delicious food from his Blue Coyote Business. Oswego Hills Winery also provided some terrific wines.
The Millennium Dance Band conducted by one of our district parents, Greg Lampson, was musically wonderful as was its vocalist Leslie Lampson.
We can't say enough about how special it is to have the National Charity League's help the past two years. These moms and daughters (more than 30 volunteers for the Bash) are a great inspiration on how mothers and daughters can make a powerful difference in their community. They are outstanding!
The Bash offers a fun opportunity for classmates to reconnect as well as a celebration of the district's history. With the support of our enthused alums, we will continue to offer this annual summer gathering.
We truly appreciate our sponsors, the Lake Oswego Review and The Bank of Lake Oswego. Thank you!
