Memorial Day program honors sacrifices by veterans who gave all

The public is invited to attend Beaverton American Legion Post 124's annual Memorial Day program.

The family event begins at 11 a.m. Monday with a performance by the 52-piece Northwest American Legion Band at Veterans Memorial Park, located on Southwest Seventh Avenue and Watson Avenue.

The program continues with a flag presentation by the American Legion Honor Guard and will include performances by the Southridge High School choir and a ceremony remembering soldiers who were prisoners of war or missing in action.

The SubVets will also hold a bell tolling for the lost submarines at the USS Albacore monument in the park.
