Reporters and editors at The Times brought home a fresh crop of awards in the Oregon 2010 Excellence in Journalism Competition held last weekend.

The competition, hosted by the Society of Professional Journalists of Oregon and Southwest Washington, recognizes the best journalism in the region in several categories. The awards were announced at a ceremony May 21 at the Paragon Restaurant in Portland.

The awards were presented to both The Times and our sister newspaper the Beaverton Valley Times, which shares many staff members and operate out of the same office.
