A Sandy man died Saturday night after he was partially ejected from a vehicle involved in a crash on Wildcat Mountain Drive near Hilton Lane.
Daniel E. Haner, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after 7 p.m., deputies and firefighters found a Toyota Tacoma upside-down and fully engulfed in flames with no one inside.
Another vehicle in the crash, a Chevrolet pickup, was found on its side off the roadway.
The crash was still under investigation Monday. According to deputies, the Chevrolet pickup crossed the center line and collided with the Toyota truck head-on, causing it to flip over and catch fire.
The Chevrolet pickup, driven by Haner, then spun off the road and landed on its side against a tree.
Investigators determined Haner was not wearing a seatbelt.
The Tacoma driver, Brett A. Fischer, 32, had minor injuries after escaping the vehicle. He was treated by a 9-1-1 caller who had first-aid training from the Army, then transported to Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center in Gresham.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Investigators have not determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
