'A Peek Into Presidential Politics' is the title of Gen. Merrill 'Tony' McPeak's address to members and guests at the Willamette Women Democrats Speakers Forum on Oct. 9 at Oswego Lake Country Club.

National Co-Chairman for Obama for President and Lake Oswego resident McPeak, USAF (Ret.) will tell about the roles he has played in the presidential campaign and his personal observations of candidate Barack Obama. McPeak was one of many generals and admirals supporting Sen. Obama who were honored on stage on the final day of the Democratic Convention.

McPeak is a highly decorated four-star general appointed in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush as Air Force Chief of Staff. He directed the air campaign in Operation Desert Storm and accomplished the largest reorganization of the Air Force in U.S. history. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he also functioned as a military adviser to the Secretary of Defense, the National Security Council and both Presidents Bush and Clinton.

The forum will begin at 4 p.m. at Oswego Lake Country Club, 20 Iron Mountain Blvd., in Lake Oswego. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $12 for members, and $14 for non-members.
