Lt. Treat graduates

Lake Oswego Police Lt. Doug Treat graduated from the FBI National Academy Program in Quantico, Va., Sept. 12.

Treat joined 250 other law enforcement officers from 49 states at the training. He received 10 weeks of training in advanced investigative techniques, management and fitness training.

Officers selected for the FBI National Academy have a proven track record within the agencies they serve. They are trained by FBI Academy staff, special agents, advanced degree-holders and recognized experts in the fields of instruction.

Graduates of the program receive undergraduate and graduate study credits. Most return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

A total of 41,948 graduates have been trained at the FBI National Academy since July 1935. More than half are still active in law enforcement.
