Eileen Brady to speak at East Metro Economic Alliance meeting
Renowned business leader Eileen Brady will be the keynote speaker at the general membership meeting of the East Metro Economic Alliance from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, in the Council Chambers of Fairview City Hall, 1300 Village St.
Brady is the co-founder of New Seasons Market. The locally owned and operated business boasts 10 stores throughout the Portland area with an emphasis on promoting sustainable agriculture practices and purchasing goods from small vendors to support regional farmers. Brady has also served on several state boards related to sustainability issues and healthcare.
The East Metro Economic Alliance comprises business and government leaders from Gresham, Fairview, Wood Village, Troutdale and East Portland. The alliance fosters positive action for economic development in the East Metro area.
Troutdale's First Friday set for June 3
The Rip Caswell Gallery kicks off the summer season with a variety of local artistic renderings depicting the allure of the seashore from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the gallery, 201 W. Columbia River Highway, Troutdale.
'From Sea to Shore' will showcase oceanscapes, watergardens and coastal landscape scenes done in watercolors, pastels and other media, from such artists as Maud Durland, Brenda Boylan,
Sandy resident Steven Thor Johanneson and others. The exhibit also features Ali Peret Designs Studio's 'A Gift from the Sea,' one of the largest loose pearl and pearl jewelry shows in the Portland area. The work of the gallery's in-house photographer, Michael Chudzik, will also be on display.
Live music will be provided by Holly Ann Rossmiller, whose angelic voice and sweet tunes have become familiar to numerous Northwest music fans.
Mt. Defiance Wine Company will host a wine tasting with its guest winery, Viento.

Medical center adds oncology specialist
Legacy Medical Group-Surgical Oncology has expanded its staff to include four board-certified surgeons and are now seeing patients at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, 24800 S.E. Stark St., Gresham.
Doctors Nathalie McDowell Johnson, Joseph Frankhouse, Angela Michelle Lewis-Traylor and Serene Perkins offer treatment for benign and cancerous conditions including breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gallbladder disease and other oncology-related diseases.

Chamber meeting rescheduled
The Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce's After Hours meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at 1026 N.W. Sleret Ave., Gresham.
