Finishing touches are being placed on the Viking House on Cedar Street. A public open house is set June 3 and 4.
Community members are welcome to stop by 2147 Cedar St. Friday and Saturday between noon and 5 p.m. to view the 2011 Forest Grove High School Viking House. Built by Chris Higginbotham's advanced building construction students, the 2,555-square-foot, single level home is the Viking Crew's largest home to date.
Next year it will serve as a training facility for 100 special needs students between the ages of 14 and 21 who need community-based instruction, said district special education director Brad Bafaro.
Grant money and federal stimulus funds paid for the home's construction, he added.
