Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

10/21/08 10:07 p.m. A juvenile was referred to a juvenile court on charges of assault and harassment.

10/22/08 12:15 p.m. Nolan Allen Adriel Shermerhorn, 25, was arrested on suspicion of parole violation and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

10/22/08 9:34 a.m. A juvenile was cited and released after being charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and contraband on school grounds (Lake Oswego High School). The youth was referred to a juvenile court.

10/22/08 1:24 p.m. James Frank Richardson III, 40, was cited and released on suspicion of driving while suspended.

10/23/08 4:55 p.m. Anthony Piers Baker, 29, was cited and released on suspicion of theft.

10/23/08 2:09 a.m. Victor Ni, 18, was cited on suspicion of underage drinking and providing a premise for minors to consume alcohol.

10/23/08 2:09 a.m. Russell K. McMurray, 21, was cited and released on suspicion of furnishing alcohol to minors.

10/24/08 5:31 p.m. Steven Daniel Tozier, 32, was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear on a charge of driving while suspended. He was taken to a jail in Multnomah County.

10/25/08 10:09 p.m. A 17-year-old was cited for driving outside restrictions. The youth also was referred to a juvenile court for reckless driving and on four counts of reckless endangering.

10/25/08 12:00 a.m. Cody L. Rodakowski, 25, was arrested on suspicion of probation violation for driving while suspended. He was taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

10/26/08 6:21 p.m. Shrafi M. Reza, 53, was cited and released on suspicion of harassment.

10/22/08 9:10 p.m. A laptop was stolen from a house on Pebble Beach Court by a known suspect.

10/24/08 3:53 p.m. Checks and jewelry were taken during a burglary on Conifer Drive.

10/24/08 6:52 p.m. A house on Stafford Road was broken into. It was unclear what was stolen.

10/21/08 10:10 p.m. Martha Dean, 73, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Country Club Road. She was taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

10/21/08 10:31 p.m. Lorri Ann Weigel, 38, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Parkview Drive. She was taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

10/22/08 11:35 p.m. Dana Lane Myers, 39, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Highway 43 and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

10/20/08 3:26 p.m. No one was hurt in a minor car collision on Country Club Road.

10/21/08 5:34 p.m. There were no injuries in a minor car collision on Boones Ferry Road.

10/23/08 4:47 p.m. No one was hurt in a two-car crash at Kerr Parkway and Touchstone.

10/23/08 6:56 p.m. A deer was struck by a car and later died on Terwilliger Boulevard at Underhill Road.

10/24/08 10:00 p.m. No one was hurt when a car rolled over on Blue Heron Road.

10/25/08 8:25 a.m. Injuries were unknown in a two-car crash on A Avenue.

10/20/08 7:35 a.m. Wheels and tires worth $10,000 were taken from a car on Denton Drive.

10/20/08 11:49 a.m. A laptop was stolen from Meadows Road.

10/21/08 9:38 a.m. A muffler was stolen off a car on Del Prado.

10/21/08 11:07 a.m. An iPhone, prescription meds, electric razor and other items were stolen from a car on North Shore Road after its window was shattered.

10/21/08 3:25 p.m. A flat-screen television was stolen from Holy Names Drive.

10/22/08 5:41 p.m. A bike was stolen from the Albertson's parking lot on Boones Ferry Road.

10/24/08 10:30 a.m. A bicycle worth $940 was stolen from Harvard Court, along with a bike computer and two lights.

10/25/08 8:53 a.m. A bank bag containing $616 in cash was stolen from a restaurant on First Street.

10/25/08 10:02 a.m. An online theft was reported from a person's bank account.

10/25/08 10:46 a.m. Political signs were stolen from Yates Street overnight.

10/25/08 11:00 a.m. Six bicycles were stolen from a bicycle rack at Lakeside Bikes.

10/26/08 8:30 a.m. Six political signs and a construction sign were stolen from a yard on Hallinan Street.

10/26/08 5:41 p.m. A woman lost track of her car after the boyfriend she loaned it to was arrested, then he gave the keys to another person.

10/20/08 6:25 a.m. An intruder turned out to be a malfunctioning patio door at a home on Furnace Street.

10/20/08 10:58 a.m. A sign was removed from the right of way after being destroyed by weather on Boones Ferry Road.

10/20/08 12:07 p.m. Someone took down a neighbor's political signs, then tore them up on Wax Wing Way.

10/20/08 1:23 p.m. A woman became concerned about her neighbor after seeing their cat outside looking hungry.

10/20/08 11:04 p.m. A 16-year-old boy ran away from home after being grounded. He later returned.

10/21/08 7:22 a.m. A dog appeared to be living in a car on Fifth Street.

10/21/08 8:13 a.m. Cars were speeding on Jean Road and not stopping for children in the crosswalk.

10/21/08 9:27 a.m. A 16-year-old boy ran away from home after failing a drug test.

10/21/08 12:18 p.m. Someone walked up a driveway on Grouse Terrace, then took all of the apples off a tree there while the homeowner was out on a walk.

10/21/08 12:54 p.m. A stranger harassed a woman while she stood in her driveway on Laurel Street.

10/21/08 3:39 p.m. Two men appeared to be tailing a pair of children but were actually in search of unregistered voters.

10/22/08 8:01 a.m. A notebook was returned to its owner after being found on State Street.

10/22/08 10:11 a.m. The library was tagged with graffiti on Fourth Street.

10/22/08 11:44 a.m. A 'No Parking' sign blew into the road on First Street.

10/22/08 12:46 p.m. Approximately 10 high school-aged teens and an adult male were seen smoking pot on Monroe Parkway.

10/22/08 1:37 p.m. A three-year-old boy called police while playing with the telephone.

10/22/08 7:38 p.m. A nervous child reported that a man approached him while he was getting ready to go for a walk. He later said the man did not actually talk to him but that he was just scared.

10/22/08 7:46 p.m. An elderly man was walking along South Shore Boulevard with a flashlight around his neck.

10/22/08 11:27 p.m. A car was repossessed from Becket 'for no apparent reason.'

10/23/08 6:56 a.m. An earlier riser was started the day with a leaf blower on Fourth Street.

10/23/08 10:34 a.m. An overgrown hedge was reported on D Avenue.

10/23/08 1:24 p.m. Painters dumped paint in a stream off Meadows Road.

10/23/08 3:00 p.m. A man wore a sandwich board that read 'Choose Jesus' at Lake Oswego High School. He was reportedly screaming and swearing at the students.

10/23/08 4:38 p.m. Political signs were removed from the right-of-way on Tenth Street.

10/23/08 6:24 p.m. A speeding black Honda Civic sped over cones on West Bay Road.

10/24/08 12:15 p.m. A person sounded like he or she was in pain on Eighth Street.

10/24/08 12:23 p.m. A boy was accused of spray-painting graffiti on Eaglecrest Drive but had not actually done so.

10/24/08 1:56 p.m. A man was acting strangely in a building on Bangy Road. Police determined he had fallen and struck his head and had the man taken to a hospital.

10/24/08 4:35 p.m. Cheaply priced gas was causing a traffic jam on McVey Avenue, where cars were lining up and blocking the road.

10/24/08 4:43 p.m. Someone parked a car on the walking paths near the tennis courts on Overlook Drive.

10/24/08 4:53 p.m. A large rock was in the road on Iron Mountain Boulevard.

10/24/08 7:17 p.m. A driver was weaving in and out of the bike lane on Country Club Road.

10/25/08 5:41 a.m. People were being loud in a hot tub on North Shore Road.

10/25/08 7:08 a.m. Someone wrote on a car with lipstick on Da Vinci.

10/25/08 9:15 a.m. One dog charged another as its people walked to Palisades Elementary School.

10/25/08 9:22 a.m. Someone was driving around naked in a borrowed car.

10/25/08 10:19 a.m. Two yard lamps were damaged and one went missing from a yard on Provincial Hill Way.

10/25/08 11:20 a.m. Three people were waving political signs on Boones Ferry Road. One of them jumped in front of a car.

10/25/08 8:58 p.m. Two carloads of kids were partying in a vacant house.

10/25/08 9:22 p.m. Ten to 20 juveniles were in the road dancing on Hallinan Street.

10/25/08 10:02 p.m. Neighbors complained about noise as a group of people played video games on Jefferson Parkway.

10/25/08 10:38 p.m. A dog was barking at a fence as though someone had just gone over it on Provincial Hill Drive.

10/25/08 11:06 p.m. Two underage girls were shoulder-tapping for alcohol on Monroe Parkway.

10/26/08 11:24 a.m. A man fell on a sidewalk on B Avenue.

10/26/08 1:15 p.m. Two juveniles were speeding in circles in a car behind the Wizer's on First Street.

10/26/08 1:40 p.m. A man was threatened with death in a dispute over a dog on Jefferson Parkway.

10/26/08 2:12 p.m. A man who asked to use water from a residential hose was suspected of living in a vacant house nearby.

10/26/08 9:20 p.m. Police who responded to a domestic disturbance found a person arguing on the telephone on Bonita Road.

10/20/08 9:24 a.m. Counterfeit checks were created against a local person's account, then cashed at an area grocery store for $173.04.

10/20/08 1:02 p.m. Consignment fraud was reported on State Street.

10/22/08 2:41 p.m. Identity theft was reported when a local person found accounts opened in his or her name.

10/24/08 11:30 a.m. A man called police about a possible scam on Craigslist.

10/24/08 5:57 p.m. A second possible scam on Craigslist was reported.

10/25/08 1:52 p.m. Identity theft was reported when suspicious items appeared on a local man's credit card.
