Quilt raffle benefit

A quilt will be raffled at The Bank of Oswego downtown main branch on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. to benefit the Coffee Creek Quilting Program.

The instructors who teach quilting to incarcerated women at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility made the queen-sized quilt to raise funds for their program.

Currently there are 60 Coffee Creek students attending weekly quilting classes taught by volunteer teachers. Students often comment that having a teacher 'show up' for them each week is the first time anyone has ever made that effort for them.

Mary Ann McCammon, a Coffee Creek Quilters teacher, will be present to talk about the program. Several quilts made by students will be on display.

Palisades Market show

Mark your calendar for Palisades Market's 2008 Holiday Show on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Attendees can sample gourmet foods and wines from more than 50 vendors, plus get information about floral arrangements, fruit and gift baskets, and catering for holiday meal and entertaining.
