Two men rob 7-Eleven at gunpoint

Gresham police are asking for the public's help finding two men who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint early Thursday, June 2.

An employee was smoking outside the 7-Eleven at 1016 N.E. Kane Drive at about 1 a.m., when he noticed two Caucasian men walk into the store wearing scarves over their faces, hoodies and sunglasses, said Officer Malaka Kerbs, Gresham police spokeswoman.

The employee stopped the suspects and explained the company policy: Nobody can go into the store with their faces covered.

That's when one of the suspects pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the employee's head and ordered him to open the cash register. The employee was able to hit the panic button while he followed their orders.

The suspects are described as white males in their early 20s, between 5-foot-6-inches tall and 6-feet tall. One was wearing a dark blue hoodie, and the other was wearing a black hoodie with a white hat. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash before police arrived in response to the panic alarm.

Anyone with any information about the identity of the suspects is encouraged to call the Gresham police tip line at 503-618-2719 or 1-888-989-3505.
