Thanks for Harvest Festival support

To the Editor:

Re. the Lake Oswego Harvest Festival 2008 at Millennium Park Plaza:

For the third year a great group of folks came together to make this event special; Kathy Kern from the city of Lake Oswego works tirelessly to bring together all the elements. Her staff, especially Mary and Maddie, are second to none. Nobody does it better.

Thank you, Kristin Kohnke-Schaff who secured our title sponsor Windermere CCRGI and gathered all the sponsors for the Trick or Treat Street. Also, thanks to the Windermere agents who manned the booths and collected coats for the coat drive.

Thanks go to:

Market volunteers deserve our thanks

To the Editor:

With another successful Farmers' Market season coming to a close, we would like to take a moment to thank all of our volunteers, for their outstanding contribution of time and skills to the city of Lake Oswego.

Our special events division relies heavily on the dedication and commitment of more than 100 volunteers to help us deliver our programs that give so much joy to the local community every year.

We are truly appreciative for the countless hours that the National Charity League contributed this year. From set-up to Doggy Daycare, to breakdown, they were always ready to pitch in and make a difference.

We were especially grateful to the Lake Oswego Rotary Club for volunteering at the market two Saturdays. Their help was greatly appreciated and it was a true demonstration of their commitment to the community. We truly mean it when we say, 'We couldn't do it without you!'

Many of our wonderful volunteers show up each week to the market ready to help with whatever is needed. The gratitude we feel to this dedication and commitment is immeasurable.

Thank you for working tirelessly each week and for the giving of your time and talents.

Lake Oswego is indeed fortunate to have such wonderful and committed citizens who volunteer.

Thank you and a big salute to all the voters who supported the formation of a (Clackamas County) Library District.

We will have dedicated money for libraries. You showed a continued commitment to support not only our wonderful library but all the libraries in the county.

Thank you for your campaign support

To the Editor:

I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported my candidacy for Lake Oswego City Council. As I have gotten out in the community, I have been pleased to meet so many wonderful people who like me love this great city and were willing to share your thoughts, suggestions, and stories.

I want to congratulate the incoming city council members. The city will be well served by their leadership, and I feel privileged to have gotten to know each of the candidates during the campaign.

Additionally, I want to thank (Lake Oswego) Mayor Judie Hammerstad and Councilors Ellie McPeak, John Turchi and Frank Groznik for their hard work, vision and significant contributions to the city.

Lake Oswego is a world-class community and I am grateful that we have such talented and dedicated citizens who are willing to serve our city and preserve the strong quality of life we enjoy.

Thanks again for your confidence in my abilities to serve you. This experience has been extremely meaningful and I look forward to seeing you out in the community.
