The Boring, Sandy, Colton and Clackamas fire teams worked together to extinguish a two-alarm fire at 27142 S. Hillockburn Road at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday, May 31.

The fire, which began with a heating lamp in the pump house behind the home, has displaced the Rand family, including Richard and Jay Rand, Windie and Tami Seeley, and two young children.

Neighbor and friend Carol Reynolds has been doing all she can to help the family, who escaped the fire unharmed, but with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

'I hope our community is one that will do whatever they can to help one another out,' Reynolds said. 'So far what we've seen since we've lived in Estacada, that's pretty much the way it's been. Your car breaks down on the side of the road, somebody's there helping you out.'

Reynolds has placed donation jars in the Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital, Dick's Logging Supply, Artsmith, Wong's King and True Value. Donations of household goods - everything from towels to shoes - would be greatly appreciated as well. Those interested in supplying anything can call Terrie Cotto at 971-678-9334.
