Does our region have talent? You'll have a chance to find out at the 'Northwest's Got Talent' showcase at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at the Mt. Hood Community College Theater.
Sally Mack's School of Dance, 17925 N.E. Glisan St., will host the show and present a tribute to Charlie Chaplin called 'The Chap is Back.' The Broadway-style revue features more than 100 performers, including Miss Oregon Scholarship Pageant contestants.
Mack - who worked with the Mousketeers choreographer on the 'Mickey Mouse Club' TV show back in the 1950s - has operated her studio for almost half a century. She says she picked the Chaplin routine because 'it just fit the style of the performers I have dancing.'
'They're not a bunch of young kids who are flexible,' she says with a chuckle, noting they'll also be employing canes ala the famous late movie star himself.
The routine will feature ragtime music from the 1973 movie 'The Sting' and employ black and strobe lights, she says.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $14 at the door. For more information, call 503-256-1167.
