Man in crash to be charged with drunk driving

Police say that William Forest Hudson, 39, of Cornelius, was driving his 2005 Mercedes CL65 south of Cornelius Friday when he swerved into the oncoming lane, hitting a 2007 Buick Lacrosse driven by Linda Green of Forest Grove.

The impact pushed Green's car into an adjacent field near the intersection of Golfcourse and LaFollett roads. Green, 66, had to be extricated by the fire department and Lifeflighted to Legacy Emanuel Hospital, where she underwent surgery for multiple broken bones.

Mr. Hudson suffered some cuts and bruises on his face and was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University by ambulance. Police say blood tests from the hospital indicate Hudson's blood-alcohol content was well over twice the legal limit. He was expected to be arrested after release from the hospital.

Buy Local committee seeks input

The Small Business Development committee of the Forest Grove Economic Development Commission, along with local non-profit Adelante Mujeres, is assessing the feasibility of creating a Buy Local program to strengthen the Forest Grove economy by supporting local businesses. The committee is collecting responses to two types of surveys: one for local residents and consumers at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/consumers_forestgrovebuylocal and one for local businesses at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/business_forestgrovebuylocal.

Alternatively, printed copies of the surveys are available at the Forest Grove Library, City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, the offices of Adelante Mujeres, BJ's Coffee and the Forest Grove Farmers Market.

Results will be tabulated at the end of June. Please complete the short surveys and help the Buy Local committee.
