Rosalie Summerville

Lifelong Clackamas County resident Rosalie Ann (Laccinole) Summerville died Dec. 1, 2008. She was 68.

Mrs. Summerville was born Sept. 18, 1940, to Tony and Jeanette Laccinole. She grew up in the Oregon City and Willamette areas with her brothers Michael and John Laccinole.

She attended St. John the Apostle school and graduated from West Linn High School.

She married Melvin Summerville on Sept. 22, 1957, and they subsequently had three children. After her children were raised, she worked for 32 years in business services for Legacy Health System.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Melvin Summerville of West Linn, son John Summerville of West Linn, daughter Teresa Easterly of Vancouver, Wash., daughter and son-in-law Roxanne and Mike Ham of Vancouver, Wash., 5 grandchildren, her father Tony Laccinole of Gladstone, and brothers John Laccinole of Calabasas, Calif., and Michael Laccinole of Charlotte, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Laccinole.

A Recitation of the Rosary and funeral Mass were held Dec. 9 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Oregon City. The burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Ada Bernice Brown

Ada Bernice Brown of Lake Oswego died of natural causes on Dec. 1, 2008. She was 90.

One of eight children, Mrs. Brown was born on Oct. 5, 1918 in Oakley, Idaho to Morgan and Alzina Woodhouse. She was raised in Oakley, and graduated from Oakley Rural High School.

She moved to Portland from Idaho in 1935. She married Leo Vernon Brown in Portland on Dec. 25, 1938. The couple moved to Lake Oswego in l944 where she lived until her death.

Mrs. Brown was a lifetime member of the Waluga Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She served as the Matron, the Grand Marshal and the Grand Committee Person for Cancer Research.

She enjoyed gardening, singing and dancing.

She is survived by her daughter Joanne Rollins of Lake Oswego, her daughter and son-in-law Carole and George Tinker of Coos Bay, her sister and brother-in-law Lorraine and Louis Silcox of Palo Alto, Calif., four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Brown, and her grandson, David Rollins.

A service was held at Skyline Funeral Home on Dec. 4, 2008. The interment followed at Skyline Memorial Garden.
