Solar-powered electric vehicle charging station unveiled
Station in Northeast Portland built by local company
The Portland Development Commission opened a solar-powered electric vehicle charging station Wednesday, June 8, at its parking lot at 3620 N.E. Martin Luther King Blvd.
The facility, built by Portland company EV4 Oregon, features two Ecotality Blink Level-2 electric vehicle charging stations, available to the public, topped by a solar canopy with panels made by SolarWorld in Hillsboro. The canopy also was built locally.
EV4 Oregon bills its solar-powered charging station as 'the only zero carbon transportation option today.'
