Woman arrested after batting practice on her ex

by: Livengood

West Linn police took a 34-year-old woman to jail Sunday on charges of second-degree assault.

Sharla Diane Livengood is accused of beating her ex with a baseball bat at a residence on Blankenship Drive.

The victim was not seriously injured and refused medical attention, even though he was struck 'repeatedly in the torso with a baseball bat,'said police Sgt. Neil Hennelly, department spokesman.

Livengood and the man have a 9-year-old son who was not physically hurt in the incident, according to police. As the pair argued over a custody issue, the boy ran out of the house, Hennelly said. When an officer caught up with the father, he was with the boy at a nearby grocery store.

Livengood was lodged at Clackamas County Jail with bail set at $250,000.
