Spot the festival mascot and Five Generaiton Court and get a chance to win prizes
The Sandy Mountain Festival's Dancing Bear and Five Generation Court Sightings event returns Saturdays, June 18 and 25, with a chance to win $100 and two tickets to the carnival that operates during the festival.
Each year, organizers offer these sightings as a means of encouraging public participation in the events that lead up to the festival, which is scheduled for July 9-10 in Meinig Park.
Here's how the sightings work: The festival's mascot, Dancing Bear, and the Five Generation Court appear at locations throughout downtown Sandy over two days. The public is invited to visit those locations, where participants collect stamps on an entry card for each 'sighting' they attend.
A participant's name is entered into the prize draw each time they collect a stamp. In other words, the more sightings you attend, the better your chances of winning.
The June 18 sightings are scheduled at:
• 10-10:20 a.m., Stephanie's Cafe
• 10:30-10:50 a.m., Sandy River Brewery
• 11-11:20 a.m., Sandy Library
• 11:30-11:50 a.m., Mt. Hood Cleaners
• 11:55 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., fire station
