Man wounded in gang-related shooting
Police say a Northeast Portland man in his 20s was wounded Wednesday night in a shooting linked to gang activity.
The man's name was not released. Police said he suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
Officers from the North Precinct were called at about 9 p.m. to a neighborhood near Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 119th Avenue, where they found the shooting victim.
Witnesses said the person who fired the gunshots was an African-American man, about 20 years old, 5-foot-6, weighing about 175 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black beanie.
A search of the area failed to find the suspect.
