Homeowner stabs burglar during early morning break-in
Police search of the area fails to turn up man with a wound to his abdomen
An Alameda neighborhood homeowner fought off and wounded a burglar early Tuesday morning.
Portland police said the homeowner woke at about 3:18 a.m. and discovered a man with a shaved head in his house. The homeowner confronted the man, and the two fought. During the fight, the homeowner stabbed the suspect, who fled on foot.
A police K-9 search of the area failed to turn up the suspect.
The homeowner suffered non-life threatening injuries in the confrontation.
The suspect is described as a white man, possibly Hispanic, with a shaved head, no facial hair, wearing a red and blue windbreaker. He has a stab wound in his abdomen.
