Portland company puts Osamas head on a knob
Wanna grab Osama bin Laden by the head and give him a good shake?
Now you can. Portland's American Shifter Co. created a new Osama bin Hidin' shift knob for vehicle gearshifts that lets some drivers do just that.
The knob features a cartoonish recreation of bin Laden's face, with his tongue hanging out . . . sort of an Ed 'Big Daddy' Roth Rat Fink look for shifters.
Members of Seal Team 6 killed bin Laden during a daring May 1 raid on his Pakistan compound.
American Shifter is turning out the handcrafted knobs as part of its 'evil doers' collection. The small business that once was a hobby now has 40 employees in Portland. It also sells a line of vehicle accessories and parts.
'We were surprised by the overwhelming worldwide demand for the Osama bin Hidin' shift knob.' Said Justin Smith, head of American Shifter's creative department. 'We are getting orders everyday from around the world and are working overtime to meet the demands of our customers.'
