ANLD hosts Behind the Scenes Garden Tour

A unique opportunity to explore eight outstanding gardens designed by members of the Association of Northwest Landscape Designers - including three in Lake Oswego - this year's Behind the Scenes Garden Tour features gardens throughout the Portland metro area.

Elements in each of the gardens are diverse and sure to please homeowners looking for inspiration, designers and students of design, gardeners, artists and plant nerds alike.

Enjoy the experience and take home new ideas from the tour, to be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Seven of the gardens will also serve as fresh-air art galleries hosting artwork for sale by local artists.

ANLD members showcasing work this year include: Courtney Downing of Green Artisans; Rick Hansen of Pacific Garden and Waterworks; Anne Marsh and Gary Fear of Marsh and Fear Garden Solutions; Steve Carruthers of Carruthers Landscape; Kip Nordstrom of Kip Nordstrom Design; Lucy Hardiman of Perennial Partners.

Tickets include entry to the eight gardens, garden descriptions and a map with written directions to navigate yourself in any order you wish through the tour.

Tickets can be purchased at local nurseries, including Dennis' 7 Dees Garden Center, located at 1090 McVey Ave., and Magnolia Manor, located at 599 A Ave., in Lake Oswego. Proceeds benefit ANLD scholarship programs for aspiring landscape designers at Clark College, Clackamas Community College and Portland Community College.
