Red Sneaker offers classical music, modern twist
Local chamber music group Red Sneaker returns to the Walters Cultural Arts Center
Classical music performances can be invigorating, but they also have a reputation of being more sedate than other performances that grace concert halls.
Hillsboro resident Tylor Neist hopes to change that perception. A former performer with the Oregon and Eugene symphonies who studied at Boston University and the Manhattan School of Music, Neist is the mastermind behind local chamber-music group Red Sneaker.
The group returns to the Walters Cultural Arts Center for a 7:30 p.m. performance Friday, June 17 and plans to let the music do the talking. The show's centerpiece is a performance of Astor Piazzolla's 1989 composition, 'Five Tango Sensations.'
The Walters Center is at 527 E. Main St. in Hillsboro. To learn more about the concert, call 503-615-3485 or go online to ci.hillsboro.or.us/arts/wcac.
