Next: The LumberJax are off until March 17, when they play at San Jose. The National Lacrosse League All-Star game is March 10 in the Rose Garden.
Playoffs?: The Jax (2-8) have lost eight games in a row but still could make the postseason. They'll battle San Jose (three times) and Edmonton (once) down the stretch for the NLL West Division's fourth spot. 'We're almost in a win-out situation, but it's within reach,' coach Derek Keenan says.
Bad mood: 'The players are pretty down,' Keenan says, after last weekend's losses at Edmonton (9-8) and Colorado (13-7). The Jax battled back against Edmonton and played hard against Colorado. But, again, goals have been hard to come by. 'We have to win games 10-8, 9-8 - we're not putting up the numbers,' Keenan says. 'We've got to play good 'D' and get goaltending.'
This and that: Brodie Merrill (hamstring) will not play in the All-Star game. He'll be in Portland, however, as the entire team will gather to practice here. … Keenan and some coaches and players had their Washington, D.C.-to-Toronto flight canceled Sunday and had to drive 10 hours to get home.
