High school says goodbye to football coach
Estacada High School football coach Butch Self was relieved of his coaching duties last week.
Everyone is quiet after news that Estacada High School football coach Butch Self was relieved of his coaching duties last week.
EHS Assistant Principal Scott Sullivan confirmed that school administrators are working on a job description for the head coach position. He said that he and others will be more likely to talk about the decision once the job has been posted, which he expects to happen in about a week.
Self declined to talk to the Estacada News.
EHS Athletic Director Dave Steppe stated that because he's retiring at the end of this year he didn't have anything to say.
Self coached the Rangers for two years. He was hired in the spring of 2005 after former coach Roger Freeborn resigned as football coach and teacher in December of 2004. Self will continue to be employed as a teacher at the high school.
