Grant will fund chamber concert in March

Estacada Together announces the receipt of a $1,600 grant from the Estacada Community Foundation (ECF) to sponsor the March 16, Oregon Symphony String Quartet chamber concert in the Estacada Auditorium.

'The Estacada Community Foundation's board felt funding the Symphony concert fit within the Foundation's mission of enhancing the unique culture and quality of life of the greater Estacada area,' said Lisa Brookshier, Foundation Chair. 'ECF's mission is to assist other organizations and groups in reaching their community-based goals, and partnering with Estacada Together was an ideal opportunity to do this.'

'We are so grateful for this support,' said Judy Beaudoin, treasurer of Estacada Together. 'This grant from the Foundation means we can add a third chamber concert to the two provided by the Symphony during Estacada's first year with Community Music Partnership.'

The Estacada School District, the City of Estacada, Estacada Together and the Estacada Arts Commission are coordinating Estacada's participation in the Oregon Symphony's Community Music Partnership. From January through May, every student in the school district will have numerous experiences with performances and workshops connected to their learning. The community will have access to three chamber concerts and a full Symphony performance.

Upcoming Community Music Partnership performances by Oregon Symphony musicians include: March 16, String Quartet Chamber Concert; April 17, Woodwind Quintet Chamber Concert; and May 12, Community Symphony Concert. The two chamber concerts will be held in the Estacada Auditorium; the full concert will take place in the High School gymnasium.
