The American Cancer Society invites individuals to honor cancer survivors, caregivers and those who have lost their battle with cancer at the Lake Oswego Relay for Life kick-off rally Monday at the Lake Oswego High School cafeteria.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. and food will be provided by Lamb's Palisades Market. Guest speakers will include Lake Oswego cancer survivor Pamela Clark.
At the rally, community members will learn more about the upcoming Relay for Life and can register for relay teams.
The Relay for Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out and take turns walking around a track to raise funds to fight cancer.
At nightfall, participants will light hundreds of luminaries around the track in a ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as those who have lost the battle.
The 2007 Lake Oswego Relay for Life will begin on July 14 at 2 p.m. and finish on July 15 at 9 a.m. It will be held at the District Stadium at Lake Oswego High School.
In 2007, Relays for Life will occur in more than 4,850 communities across the United States. For more information, contact Rhonda Cohen at 503-639-7633 or .
