Portland Christian girls capture 2A title

Portland Christian's girls have won their second state basketball tournament in four years. The Royals captured the Class 2A title in Pendleton on Saturday, beating top-ranked Santiam 49-31. PC (24-4) got 19 points and 19 rebounds from Kim Hill, the 2A volleyball player of the year, and the Royals held the Wolverines to 23.6 percent shooting. Hill and sophomore teammate Darcy Cornell (unanimous choice) made the all-tournament team.
