Centennial schools may change boundaries
Lynch Wood families would be affected by switch
Due to overcrowding at Lynch Wood Elementary School, at 3615 S.E. 174th Ave., the Centennial School District is considering shifting attendance boundaries next year, which would result in about 45 students being moved to Lynch View Elementary School, at 1546 S. E. 169th Place.
Both schools house grades kindergarten through sixth.
In a letter sent out earlier this week to parents affected by the proposed change, Robert McKean, Centennial superintendent, said school board members would be getting a preliminary report on the proposal at their Wednesday, March 14, meeting. A formal proposal will go before the board Wednesday, April 11.
The proposed boundary change would generally affect students living between Southeast 160th and East 167th avenues, south of Division Street and north of Tibbetts Court. Questions about the proposal should be directed to Rick Larson, director of business and operations, at 503-762-3650.
