Troutdale resident Shannon Oleta Farrens and Sandy resident Matthew T. Tjostolvson were married at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Community Presbyterian Church in Sandy.

The bride's father accompanied her down the aisle for the double-ring ceremony officiated by Pastor Dave Snyder.

She wore her mother's heirloom blue garter.

The bride is the daughter of Glenn Farrens of The Dalles and Cheryl Farrens of Troutdale. She is a 1997 Reynolds High School graduate.

She works for the Beaverton School District.

The groom is the son of Don and Robyn Tjostolvson of Sandy. He is a 1999 Sandy High School graduate and is a senior at Portland State University.

He works for Esis, a workers' compensation claims company.

Megan Pierce, the bride's friend of Fernley, Nev., was the maid of honor.

The bride's friends, Katherine Cook of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mallory Michael of Gresham, also attended the bride.

John Michael, the groom's friend of Gresham, was the best man.

The groom's friends, Michael Scott of Gresham and Christopher Korsak of Portland, also attended the groom.

A reception was held in the fireside room at Community Presbyterian Church immediately following the ceremony.

The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii.

Matthew and Shannon Tjostolvson are making their home in Tigard.
