Lose four games in a row

The Estacada High School baseball team struggled in its first week on the diamond, but there is a high note: the Rangers' opponents are 10-1.

The season began with a home game against Valley Catholic on Monday, March 12. The Valiants won the dual 11-10. Valley Catholic is 3-0.

Then, the Rangers traveled to Marist, where the Spartans unloaded on Estacada, scoring 24 unanswered runs. Marist was undefeated at press time on Monday with four wins.

Seaside, 2-0, beat the Rangers 8-2 on a sunny Wednesday, March 12, afternoon in Estacada. The Seagulls are 2-0.

The Scappoose Indians handed the Rangers their fourth straight loss, 3-0, Friday. Scappoose is 1-1. The Indians lost to North Marion, a team the Rangers will face once the Capital Conference season begins.

Estacada began the league season on Monday at Stayton, but results were not available at press time. They play Gladstone at home today and at LaSalle on Friday, March 23. Both games begin at 4 p.m.
