Police investigating Washington Park assault

Portland police are investigating a sexual assault early Friday morning in Washington Park.

According to police, at about 2:56 a.m., officers responded to the area of the Washington Park Transit Station and spoke with a 25-year-old woman who said she was walking in the area of Northwest 21st Avenue and Hoyt Street after leaving a bar when a man drove by and offered her a ride home, which she accepted.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gold 1990s Volvo station wagon.

Officers checked the neighborhood but were unable to find the man or the vehicle.
