Billboard foes finding powerful allies
The city of Sandy will file an appeal with the state Land Use Board of Appeals regarding the twin billboards in Boring that are scheduled to be finished in the next week or so. The LUBA appeal will be in addition to an injunction in Clackamas County Circuit Court.
The city is trying to prove that not only are the billboards a bogus use of land-use Measure 37, but the county is guilty of breach of contract for neglecting its Green Corridor Agreement responsibilities. City Attorney David Doughman said the city is getting some allies on this issue, including many local property owners, 1000 Friends of Oregon and State Sen. Rick Metsger.
