by: Jessie Kirk, Senior Brooke Bell was chosen by her peers at Wilson High School to represent the school as this year's Rose Festival Princess

Students at Wilson High School chose senior Brooke Bell as their Rose Festival princess on March 23.

The students voted after Bell and the rest of Wilson's Rose Festival Court - Blaire Anderson, Meryl Montgomery, Rachel Nichenko, Emily Norton and Maggie Zimmer - gave speeches and answered an impromptu question each. There was also a slideshow of personal photos for each member of the court. Bell won her fellow students over with her funny speech and by dancing during her slideshow.

Bell joins the 14 other princesses from Portland-area schools in promoting the Rose Festival all over the city. As a conclusion to the festivities, one princess will be named the Queen of Rosaria at 8:30 a.m. on June 9 before the Grand Floral Parade.
